I’m Hannah, a Product Designer studying Human-Centered Design and Engineering at the University of Washington.
These are the designer-ly ways I see the world:
An Open Mind
Volunteering and planning events for nonprofits taught me how to collaborate with others, adapt under pressure, and create something meaningful for a community. The opportunity to build authentic connections and make a positive impact inspires the way I approach my work—seeing it as a way to make everyday interactions simpler, more thoughtful, and more human. I read a lot of historical fiction—drawn to stories with layered plots and shifting timelines that open doors to unfamiliar cultures and sometimes reveal strange aspects of my own. That curiosity about how people think and interact with the world reminds me that behind every product is a person with unique needs, expectations, and context. I enjoy working closely with users to meet them where they are and create experiences that not only make them happier, but also support business goals by guiding meaningful and effective decisions.
Seeing the Forest and the Trees
Classically trained in piano, violin, and ballet I was taught how to catch the tiniest details to practice technique. But to perform with expression and musicality behind a piece required stepping back to feel the whole piece—the “forest” behind all the trees. That shapes how I approach problem-solving. I’ve learned to move easily between details and the bigger picture: from zooming into every layer of a challenge to aligning with business goals, technical constraints, and user needs. I enjoy working across the full product process—from discovery to execution—so I can connect the dots to tell a complete story.
Insatiably Curious, Never Satisfied
I ask a lot of questions—about how things work, how people think, or how cultures and technologies shape one another. Travel has been a big part of that curiosity, taking me from Taiwan to Seattle and many places in between. Stepping into new environments—away from the familiar—helps me see from different perspectives, which I carry into how I approach problems and design decisions. That same mindset pushes me to keep learning—whether it’s picking up a new tool, exploring a different method, or staying informed on how the field is evolving.

Strengths
-
Enjoy designing across the full product lifecycle—from early research and framing problems to refining interactions and shipping. I like connecting the dots between ideas and execution.
-
I integrate qualitative and quantitative methods into fast-moving product cycles, using evidence to guide strategy without slowing down momentum. I design with intention, but I’m not afraid to pivot. I test early, simplify where it matters, and iterate based on what works, not just what looks good.
-
I work closely with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders to make sure design decisions align with technical constraints and business goals—while staying grounded in real user feedback.
